“Intuition is the ability to see what others do not see. The presence of the owl announces change as well as the capacity to see beyond deceit and its masks. It represents wisdom. The traditional meaning of the owl spirit animal is the announcer of death which is also symbolic of life transition and change.”
When I see this card, I see one that lives life wide open. This Knight faces whatever is coming no matter what it is. He is full on prepared for anything, looking straight into the sun so often that he is the sun. He hears the warning the great owl has delivered and instead of running away from it he jumps on and flies with it. I hear him saying, “Bring It!” He is the steady and sure Knight that knows enough about life to use his well earned skills without fear. He is open to fate.
The swords relate to the mind, thoughts, ideas and attitudes. The Knight of Swords is action oriented and has progressed far enough in his field of interest to be actually living it. Even though he is not quite an expert, he is able to successfully use the skills that he has been acquiring up to this point. He is still aware that he has more to learn. He is ambitious and passionate.
The Knight of Swords is the spirit of the storm not the storm itself. He is skilled in subtlety and cleverness. He is fierce and delicate, yet quite courageous. His quest is knowledge, Daath. He is the Middle Path in Tree Of Life.
He is the type of person that can receive a creative inspiration and just get straight to it without worrying about the end result. He very much lives in the moment. He is an intellectual and naturally thinks on a higher level. Spontaneity is important to him. His focus is intense when he is interested in a subject. But, once he loses his interest, he will be off searching a new adventure.
The swords represents air and the mind. When you draw a sword you must wonder are your thoughts working for or against you?
For all the passion and fire burning within this Knight, it can work for or against him, as too much power given at this point could go to his head if he is not careful. He must always think ahead and ask himself if the battle he is fighting is equal to the energy he is putting into it because if not, he will burn out. He should be aware that if he loses heart or drops his focus, he can get off track and be headed in the wrong direction.
He should remember that though he is confident, he is the knight not the king. There is still more to be learned. If he is off track and losing focus he needs to realign his actions with his heart and his mind. If you are this knight and you are struggling, take heart and make the necessary adjustments and keep moving forward.
If you are not this Knight be on the look out for the person this represents. For within this person, you will find the answers you are seeking.
